Dionisio González is a Spanish photographer whose work has been exhibited at The Venice Architecture Bienniale, The Heidelberger Kunstverein, the Landesmuseum Joanneum de Graz, and Hanoi’s Museum of the Revolution, bringing him renowned international recognition.

The above particular set of works was featured at the recent Fake Empire exhibition curated by Lee Stoetzel at the Mixed Greens gallery in Chelsea, wherein which González used Photoshop to insert buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, and Louis Kahn into the historic city of Venice.

Note that buildings by these modern architectural masters were proposed but never realized due to Italian bureaucracy. As González says about his project, “I have created a Venice that could have been.”
