Lavazza is an Italian coffee manufacturer with a slogan that says ”Italy’s Favorite Coffee.” With a long and rich history dating back to 1895, they claim that over 3/4 of Italian families choose Lavazza.
Over the past 20 years, they have been creating one-of-a-kind calendars in cooperation with some of the best photographers around the world and have produced a total of 170 photographs. Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, David LaChapelle, Ellen von Unwerth, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Ferdinando Scianna, Albert Watson, and Eugenio Recuenco are just some of the names who are now celebrating, together with Lavazza, an exhibition at the Teatro dell’Arte della Triennale in Milan until Nov 9.
For the 2012 calendar, what’s different is that each photographer not only shoots the idea, fantasy, culture, lust, love or whatever other coffee-inspired moment through their lenses but also place themselves within the photograph, thus providing a rare look inside the photographer’s mind as we see them within their own imagination.
